Residence for Relatives of European Union Citizens

Family members of citizens of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland who wish to reside in Spain for more than three months can apply for the Residence Card for Relatives of EU Citizens. This authorization allows direct relatives, such as spouses, registered partners, children or dependent ascendants, to legally reside in Spain.

The procedure must be carried out at the Immigration Office corresponding to the place of residence in Spain, presenting the required documentation, which includes proof of family ties and sufficient financial means. Once approved, the card is valid for five years, with the possibility of renewal.
